Her birthday is on March 29th, 1985 in Roswell in New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her birth name. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. She is American and has Mexican-American heritage. At a very young age, her desire to be active in sports was strong. Gerina started playing golf when she was fifteen. Gerina was a student at Goddard High School for her secondary education. While she was in the high school level, she was able to win at the New Mexico state golf tournament. A volleyball player, she was also a participant in state tournaments. She enrolled in Texas's University of Texas, Texas, for the 2003 academic year. She was the only winner of all events she took part in throughout her senior years. In her undergraduate time, she was awarded the Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year award and the Female UTEP athlete of the Year.
